I love Ikea. Yesterday one of my Jen’s was in town and she took me for breakfast and then we hit up IKEA.

I bought stuff!

No, I hadn’t planned the shopping trip. No, I didn’t budget for it. But I was right there! And we needed stuff!

First of all, I accidentally smashed my French Press when I knocked it down out of the cupboard on Thursday night. There was much screaming and crying. Did you know you can buy a very nice French Press at IKEA for 9.99? I HAD to grab it!

Now, let’s talk kids sheets. Ew, first of all. Especially when talking teens. But a fact of life. Sheets wear out. Sheets have to get thrown out sometimes. I am all for reuse recycle reduce but I am NOT giving my grungy old used sheets to another person. Dignity and respect for all humans, man! I DO want to learn to crochet strips of fabric into rugs. Then I can upcycle my gross old things into nice soft washable rugs.

Ok that was a rabbit hole. Sorry about that.

Kids sheets! Anyways, it seems we are suddenly out of extra sheets. I like to have one on the bed, one in the linen closet, and one in the hamper. 😊 With 4 kids that’s um….oh my. No wonder we never seem to have any clean sheets in the linen closet.

The point of this tale is that Ikea has twin fitted sheets for a very good price. We don’t use top sheets here at our house, so the ability to buy one twin fitted sheet at a time is a gold mine to me. And they are ACTUALLY cotton. Which matters immensely to me. I hate polyester sheets. Polyester will live for about 5000 years in the land fill when you throw out your sheets, where as good old fashion natural cotton returns to the earth from which it came. ✌️ 🕊️ 🖖

IKEA also has an As-Is section, and I lucked out! I got a beautiful blue jersey sheet for a steal of a deal!

If you are going to be following along on my misadventures, you should know a few things about me, I love blue. I mean LOVE. Can everything be blue? Can all my clothes be blue? Can all my curtains be blue? Lastly, I say absolutely A LOT. Maybe it’s my favorite word.

And so, I spent money I hadn’t planned on spending on things I wanted. I have no regrets on this one.

Sheets are washed, dried, folded, and put away in the linen closet.

Absolutely thrilling!
